These are the major navigation systems currently in use in the Armor 30 Pro.

Note: These systems often work together to provide more accurate and reliable positioning data. For example, many GPS receivers can also utilise signals from GLONASS, Galileo, and other systems to improve their accuracy.

Map and Compass: While hiking or trekking, you could have a detailed navigation app with a map displayed on the larger main screen, while multi tasking other apps to show a compass heading, GPS coordinates, altitude, or other relevant real-time data from a secondary app or widget. This allows for quick glances without fully switching focus. The 16GB of RAM and powerful CPU means multi tasking is super easy.

Offline Map Instructions on Rear: If following turn-by-turn directions from an offline map app (Can easily download maps from Google Maps to store locally in the massive 512GB storage), you could potentially have the next instruction or a simplified visual cue displayed only on the rear screen, minimising the need to constantly wake and unlock the main display, saving battery in a survival or multi day adventure.

Photography & Videography:

Enhanced Selfies/Vlogging: This is the most obvious win. Seeing a live preview of the high-quality rear cameras on the rear screen makes taking well-composed selfies and recording vlogs in challenging outdoor environments significantly easier. You can see exactly what you’re capturing, ensuring you get the shot you want, even with gloves on or in awkward positions.

Framing Assistance for Others: When asking someone else to take a photo of you, the rear screen can act as a live viewfinder for them, ensuring you’re in the frame and the composition is to your liking. This is especially helpful in noisy environments where verbal instructions might be difficult.

Discreet Notification Checks: While engaged in activities like wildlife watching or navigating tricky terrain, you can quickly glance at the rear screen for important notifications (weather alerts, messages from your group) without fully illuminating the main screen and potentially disturbing wildlife or losing focus.

Emergency Information on Rear: In an emergency situation, you could potentially have key medical information, contact details, or pre-loaded emergency instructions displayed on the always-on or easily accessible rear screen for first responders. This could be down by creating an image with the key info, and setting the main screen to the smaller secondary screen and always on, brightness down low. This lower power draw, in combination with the super large battery, could be a lifesaver for folks who have fits, or have medical conditions that they need to alert people to when they are unconscious. Would be good to see Ulefone implement this into an SOS function that could be triggered easily by the programmable key.

Two-Way Communication Aid: In situations where clear verbal communication is difficult (windy conditions, distance), one person could show a message or image on the rear screen to another person without needing to fully hand over the device or interrupt their current task on the main screen.

Specific Adventure Activities:

Wildlife Photography/Observation: Night photography and video with possibly the best nightvision setup on a smartphone ever.

Fishing: Waterproof, rugged and portable entertainment for those long hours by the river or loch waiting on a bite.

Mountaineering/Climbing: Navigation, loudspeaker for clear calls in the wind, rugged waterproofness for whatever the adventure throughs at you.
