This spring/summer sees Italian footwear brand AKU expand its hiking and fast-hiking offering with the launch of the Omnia V-Light GTX shoe and Adapta SD GTX boot.
Omnia V-Light GTX: This new versatile and lightweight fast-hiking shoe is ideal for any outdoor adventure. Made from recycled materials, without the use of animal leather, the Omnia V-Light GTX is an example of AKU’s commitment to researching design solutions with reduced environmental impact. The upper is made entirely from recycled materials and the water-repellency treatments are PFAS-free, as is the waterproof Gore-Tex lining which is made of EPE. The two densities of the wedge and tread are co-moulded to reduce the use of adhesives and the EVA used is partially bio-based whilst the tread is made of partially recycled rubber. For the perfect grip AKU’s Tenuta outsole is ideal for mixed and off-road use on smooth or wet surfaces thanks to its aggressive lug design. Adapta SD GTX: Made in Italy and designed for dynamic trekking this new boot offers adaptability, lightness and superior comfort. The new Vibram Adapta sole, in synergy with AKU’s revolutionary Elica System, guarantees outstanding grip and comfort with deep flex grooves and lugs (partially filled with soft PU) that allow the sole to adapt to various uneven terrains.
